From the classical 2013 vintage comes our more structured Pinot Noir to date. Elevated levels of whole clusters within the ferment have delivered additional aromatic complexity and arguably beauty, in addition there is a chalky tannic frame which suggests enjoyment as part of a meal is most suitable. Unfined and unfiltered from naturally farmed vineyards comprised of older vines.
This is a wine for those patient to listen, while powerful in character it has a subtlety of fragrance. To my mind, the scent speaks of red rose, cocoa, dusty velvet, rush wood and fire roasted plums. The inclusion of whole bunches in the ferment have allowed us to coax this depth and array from solely the fruit of our land not the interior of a barrel. Moving to the palate, deliiously dry slightly taught, carries refreshing acidity and a raw chalky resinous component from the stems - this is the taste of Pinot Noir in its full format.
